CHILE, PATAGONIA AND TIERRA del FUEGO

Our journey south from Puerto Montt in Chile took us through some of the most remote and windblown parts of the world. Isolated settlements were few and far between, anchorages were always challenging and the Williwaws that blew down from the snow clad Andes were ferocious.

But it has a wild and beautiful grandeur, full of history and a number of spectacular National Parks.

As we approached the Beagle Channel from the Straits of Magellen were faced with a dilemna, to go outside and around Cape Horn or take the opportunity to explore the famous Beagle. Unable to do both with the time available we chose the Beagle
