Novara is now in the capable hands of Susan Howland and her staff at Wayfarer Marine in Camden, Maine.
This is a historic, local boatyard with an excellent reputation for craftmanship and engineering skills.
The big Perkins, Sabre 135HP engine has already been removed and is undergoing a complete refit that will see all but the block, cylinder head, camshaft and crankshaft replaced. The engine will be rebuilt and thoroughly tested before Phil, Terje and I return to Maine at the beginning of April to complete the refit.
While the engine is out of the boat we will use the opportunity to create more space and improve access to the engine as well as cleaning and painting, bilges and engine room.
