With all sails in place we have taken the opportunity over the weekend to get Novara out sailing.
Unfortunately Saturday proved to be a lot windier than forecast and with the reefing system still to be set up we were overpowered and had to drop the sails and motor into Fox Thorofare and anchor overnight. Sunday has proven to be almost perfect and we were able to hoist all sails, set up the reefing pennants on both mainsails and switch off the engine. We had a couple of hours of idyllic sailing in light winds before the breeze built up and we had to reduce sail and head back to the dock in Camden.
In the short time we were sailing we learned a lot about the rig and the boat and will build on this when conditions allow next week.
