A bit of a blow

When I added the 1,200ft of 1" high strength shoreline to Novara's mooring options I had in mind its probable use in the Arctic, the Caleta's of Patagonia and Antarctica.

I never imagined that the it would be put into use when moored alongside the wharf in downtown Halifax!

But with the approach of hurricane Arthur we untied from the floating pontoons and created a cat's cradle of lines to the wooden jetty putting into use for the first time some of the new shore lines.

Although Arthur was downgraded to a tropical storm before it reached Halifax it still had some venom in the strong winds and we were glad of the extra security from the shore lines.

The storm is diminishing as I type this and should clear completely overnight but with confused seas for a further 24 hours we will delay our departure until Monday morning.
