Polar Bears

August 12, 2014

There have been a few questions raised on our claim to have sighted a Polar Bear as far south as Cape Dyer. In reality the bears get as far south as Newfoundland and bears on ice floes are not an unusual sight from there north.

We saw our first bear on an ice floe in Clephane Bay and our second bear high on a cliff on the end of Cape Hooper....here are the pics to prove it!

The first bear jumped into the water as soon as he saw the boat and kept looking back to see if we were chasing him, this I would not do so the picture is taken a way off. He really is there...the white dot just to the left of the floe
