Just another day in Cambridge Bay

September 5, 2014

Having finally caught up with our spares, we spent the last two days stripping and rebuilding our steering mechanism. All looks good so hopefully we can bring to an end over 3,000nm of hand steering!

We invited the 5 crew of Drina and Glenn and Anne off Gjoa over for dinner last night and were also joined by the two Norwegians that are here waiting for the arrival of the Tandberg so they begin the job of raising Amundsen’s ship the Maude.

We had a great evening, swapping stories of places, people and shared friends.

We plan to leave early tomorrow to make progress west as the strong westerly's diminish and begin to turn in our favour.

Without on board e mail we will be unable to update our blog but the boat's position will be updated twice daily on our tracker.
