More headwinds!

The lighter winds did not materialise and we had to motorsail for 2 days into more strong headwinds that followed us as we rounded Cape Bexeley.

Now, on the afternoon of the 10th we are headed due east in light easterlies but will soon have to gybe to miss a long tongue of 7/10ths ice that projects as far south as 70:30 N. This will add about 40nm to our journey but has the benefit of slightly stronger easterlies that should help us make up time. Our original great circle route would also have taken us within 5nm of the ice edge just north of Cape Bathurst but we headed south to avoid the ice edge that was clearly visible as a bright white glow on the horizon.
