Safe for the Winter

Novara is now safely tucked up in Camber Dock, Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands for the southern winter.

Secure behind 5m high stone walls that form the outer rim of the old Royal Navy bunkering station she is tied up in a cats cradle of a dozen 25mm shore lines. Within a day these proved necessary as a 36 hour storm with 65 kt winds passed over the harbour and in the last week winds of 90 kts have been blowing through in the latest winter storm.

The ferocity of the first gale can be seen on the wreck of the LADY LIZ that lies at the eastern end of the harbour.....and this is one of the most sheltered harbours in the Falklands!
