This part of the peninsula is known as Kodiak Alley because it is incredibly beautiful and all cruise ships and charter yachts include it on their itineraries.
Terje and I were fortunate to see it in perfect conditions in 2007 and with the prospects of good conditions in the late afternoon and evening we left Lockroy and headed south.
It turned out to be the correct decision and we could not have been more fortunate with superb visibility and an ice choked channel to keep everyone interested.
We had to weave our way through the ice and past large grounded bergs.
The light was excellent and the crew were able to get some great shots for their albums
