Once we arrive in Piriapolis, Uruguay, on Sunday we will have covered over 1,700nm almost due north from Deception Island at 63 degrees south in Antarctica to the east coast of South America.
We will have left the Screaming Sixties, sailed through the Furious Fifties and the Roaring Forties and land at 34 degrees north.
From a land of snow and ice to an Atlantic port in a balmy early Autumn.
Novara has now covered over 27,000 nm since leaving Camden in Maine and still has over 7,500 nm to go before we get back there.
In between there is some warm weather sailing in a more relaxed style.
It will be a welcome change!
